Some Inspiration

Hi, I hope fall is going well for you. I have a couple of brief updates.

María’s Cancer Treatment

I noted in the last update that María had stopped her cancer treatment about 10 treatments short of finishing her course, as it was taking too much of a toll on her. She had some follow-up exams that showed that her cancer had in fact responded to the radiation therapy that she had been receiving. The doctors have wanted to finish the last 10 treatments, and although she wasn’t up to continuing straight through, she’s taken a break and is feeling much better and is planning on trying to complete the course. She mentioned her kids as an inspiration to continue. So, that’s all been good news. We will see what happens now, and I’m in regular contact with her along the way.

Food in the Desert

I finally finished the last installment of the Food in the Desert video series on finding spiritual food in the 4 Gospels. This last video reveals how John connects the theme of the Good Shepherd with Jesus in the washing of the disciples’ feet at the Last Supper, and how to hear what John is saying about Jesus and us by reading those two passages together. In this video, I go a step further than the others by using the New Testament Greek to find the connecting points, to show how going further with your own investigation into the Gospels can help to uncover more of the inspired “stitching patterns” in the Gospels. So, feel free to check it out here. And, as always, the full video series can be found at the bottom of the Barriers to Bridges homepage.

As I mention in these videos, I’m teaching a way of understanding and reading the Gospels that reveals to you the “backbone” message of the writers. It’s a way that’s accessible to anyone, and that you won’t find anywhere else! These videos reveal the foundational spirituality behind the Barriers to Bridges mission, and so I hope that catching them inspires you. Enjoy!

Until next time, have a blessed November,

Jerome
