A Visit to Fe y Alegría

Hi, I hope the new year is going well!

I am now in Lima, Perú, where the Society of St. James is having their annual meeting. On Friday I'll be traveling to the mountains to visit a few parishes there where some of the St. James guys are located. I'm also likely to visit Machu Pichu - so there'll be a lot to share either way.

Riobamba

I'm still working on the update after being in Riobamba - I hope to have something ready this week, it was a very special experience and there's been a lot of work put into arranging the photos and videos, I'll be glad to share it with you.

Fe y Alegría

In Quito, I was able to visit the school Emaús which is operated by Fe y Alegría. That's where the kids with disabilities attend their inclusion program, and where our donations were given for the therapeutic Christmas gifts. So I had the pleasure of meeting a bunch of the kids, their parents, and the staff, and spending time in the classrooms and their playground with them - it was a great experience to meet them all - they are truly children with "Dios"-abilities! Enjoy a few photos and the video of the dancing:

This adorable girl walks on her legs, even though they end at her knees - it is impossible not to be amazed!

Sr. Meir has had to leave the work because of her health, so the visit was also her send-off from the job. There was a little party with food and speeches, and good sendoff for her. Please pray for Sr. Meir as she is undergoing tests for a tumor she has - she recovered from cancer about 3 years ago, so there are risks of its return ...

Until the next time, please keep me in your prayers, and have a great week,

Jerome
